Hi. I’m Josh and I’m a content creator currently based in Revelstoke, BC, Canada.

I began studying a Bachelor of Film and Screen Production at Griffith Film School in 2016. Not quite knowing which discipline I wanted to double down on, I spent my first and second years trying out everything, from directing, producing, editing, sound designing, camera operating, production designing to visual effects.

In 2017 I began a production company Raincoat Productions.

Me and the other members of Raincoat Productions began to work on different projects, building a vast portfolio. We delved in short films with the 48 Hour Film Challenge (2017), produced social media content for The Ja Joint, captured the experience at a music festival “Island Vibe“, created social media TVC’s for Surfers Paradise Backpackers Resort.

In 2017, I was the editor and sound designer for a Drama Production called ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Rain‘, and won an award for the best Sound Design from the Griffith Screen Society. The film has gone on to screen at the Brisbane International Film Festival, Screen It Film Festival, Short + Sweet Queensland Film Festival (winning the Heat One People’s Choice awards), Heart of Gold International Short Film festival, West End Film Festival and Noosa International Film Festival.

I also began creating content on YouTube from late 2017 on my personal channel.

In early 2018 I began my biggest project yet, writing and directing my graduate film CTRL ALT DELETE.

After graduating in 2019, I began working as a Videographer / Video Editor for Griffith University.

From 2020 I was working for LJ Hooker Property Hub and Coast & Country Financial Services, making social media content.

Throughout this time my freelance business continued to grow, working with different clients and on different projects, from real estate videography, kickstarter projects, to weddings and e-commerce.

In October 2021, I continued doing my freelance business remotely and moved to Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada.

PROFESSIONAL ASPIRATIONS

I plan to graduate in my Film and Screen Production degree by the end of 2018. During this time I plan to experiment, expand my film knowledge and apply this in student films that will enter the festival circuit, professional commercial work for businesses and clients (such as advertisements and or events) and personal content creation while also learning and perfecting film crew positions (such as cameraman, sound recordist, boom operator etc…). As to the future beyond my degree I believe there are a milestone of opportunities to be had in the film/entertainment industry and to lock yourself down to one particular production, roll or niche is harmful towards your career trajectory.

RESPECT

Most of this industry is built on the professional relationships you build with other creatives so being respectful as well as being a good personal trait is also essential in the film and television industry.

HARD WORK

To make it in this industry and to make something you can be truly proud of you must be driven and passionate about the work you do. This is the reason while I put copious amounts of effort into every project.
